Halloween Treats

It’s the 30th October in Australia today. One more day til Halloween! Kids love halloween… they can dress up in some scary costume and go trick or treating! There’s also heaps of parties around for adults to attend too. Every year, I always find that I need to stock up of lollies, chocolates, and other treats, so that I have something to give to the kids who knock on my door!

Well, this year, I am making some halloween treats, something special for the kids. You can see on the above picture that I have made some yummy biscuits and decorated with four different designs. I have a pumpkin,  trick or treat, a ghost, and an angry bear.

They are very easily to make and absolutely delicious! So if you have the time, make something special for those who come knocking on your door this halloween!

For the biscuit, you will need:

  • 350g Plain Flour
  • 2 teaspoons Miessence Berry Radical Superfood
  • 1 teaspoon bicarb soda
  • 115g unsalted butter
  • 150g dark brown sugar
  • 1 beatened egg
  • 3 tablespoons honey

For the royal icing (for decoration), you will need:

  • icing sugar
  • food dye (red, yellow, green)
  • 2 drops lemon juice
  • 1 egg white


  1. Mix flour, Miessence Berry Radical, and bicarb soda
  2. Add butter
  3. Add sugar, egg, and honey
  4. Mix to dough, cover and chill for 30 minutes
  5. Roll out dough to approx. 5mm thick
  6. Use cookie cutter to create shapes
  7. Bake at 425 F for 10 minutes
  8. Cool biscuits completely
  9. Decorate with royal icing
  10. Let decoration dry until hard (perhaps overnight)
  11. Biscuits can be stored in air tight container
