The Best Organic Hand Wash

washing handsOne of the best foaming hand wash that I have used is an organic product from Miessence. I would like to share my experience about this organic foaming hand wash.

Before switching to a green, organic lifestyle, I have used other cheap brands that you buy from supermarkets. They are usually full of chemicals as expected.

But when I started using the Miessence certified organic products, I not only fell in love with the products, but I thought that their hand wash was so convenient and affordable.

I have been using the Miessence hand wash product for 4 years now and am not stopping there. Just love it. Their hand wash concentrate is made up of certified organic ingredients, which doesn’t harm the environment and ourselves.

Their ingredients include certified organic aloe vera leaf juice, coco glucoside, certified organic lemon myrtle essential oil, organic glycerin, non GMO xantham gum, and citric acid.

Miessence Hand Wash ConcentrateFor a 250ml bottle of hand wash concentrate, it can last 10 times. People simply use 25ml of the concentrate and fill it up with water to make a 250ml fresh batch of hand soap in the refillable foaming soap dispenser.

So for loyal customers like myself, I pay $AU 63.16 for a bottle of hand soap concentrate. So every time I make up a fresh batch of hand soap, it would only cost me $6.31.

This is quite affordable for an organic hand wash with no harmful chemicals and would last for a while. Some of those ready prepared hand soaps that you find in health shops can cost perhaps $10 or more.

Miessence has recently improved their formula and have a new ceramic foaming soap dispenser available for people to purchase. So with their new and improved formula, people can use 50ml of the concentrate to make a 300ml batch of hand wash. The hand concentrate can be used up to 5 times, but it will still last for a long time.

I really love it that they are making improvements to their products.

For those who would like to try out this fantastic hand wash, they have a special offer available for a limited time this month (until 8th July 2015). So you buy 2 hand wash concentrates, and receive the foaming hand soap dispenser for FREE! Before you check out, just remember to include the promo code: foaming.

    Hello,

Awesome post about organic hand wash. It’s true that a lot of the soaps and cleaners that we use these days are not good for the environment, and most people don’t even know it! Thanks for helping make things like this public. We only get one planet, so let’s take care of it.

We wash our hands all the time, so it make sense to use an organic hand wash. We should all do our bit to help our planet.

    Hi,
I really enjoyed your post and i feel bad now because i use real chemical products… And you’re right why don’t i spend less money and get a better soap for the planet. Since we use soap at least 3 to 4 times per day it will be a nice action. I might have a look to their website, unfortunately the promotion code will not work now.
I will be happy to read more posts on other ways of not harming the planet.
Thank you for your intresting content.

The organic hand soap is still good value for money even though the promotion code is not valid anymore. It’s always better to use a natural/organic alternative. It does the same job as a chemical soap, except this one has no harmful substances, so it’s actually better for you and the environment.

Thanks for the info. I will pass this page onto my wife. She makes her own soap. Yet the ingredients here are very interesting like organic aloe vera leaf juice, coco glucoside, certified organic lemon myrtle essential oil, organic glycerin, and citric acid. I’m not sure if she uses this. Do yo know how long Miessence will last, a bottle, with regular use?

    • Teresa says:

Hi Michael, seems like your wife likes natural products too since she is making her own soaps. For Miessence, once a bottle is opened, it is recommended that people use it within 6 months to guarantee freshness.

This was a well thought out page. Organic is the way these days but with this huge organic craze I hope people can understand real benefits. I know you touched on it but it would be nice if you had a page where you explained all of the benefits of going organic. I am sure there are some startling facts about it.

I found this article very enlightening. I never really thought about using organic soap but now after reading this, you have convinced me that I must try it sometime in the near future.

Thanks very much. It’s great to see someone taking action to spread information about lowering our carbon footprint. We need to look after mother Earth as she looks after us!

    Nice one.

I try to make eco-friendly choices as often as I can, so I was happy to find this post! It’s good to know that there are organic hand washes like this out there that are also affordable.

I will try to find this brand of hand wash in North America, but if I can’t, are there other brands that you’ve heard good things about?

    Hi Teresa,
You have a nice website here.
I have been looking for more natural soaps and shampoos lately.
I heard a while ago that chemicals from soaps can enter our bodies though the skin and cause damage, even alter our bodies hormones. Do you have any comments on that?
    Thank you,
    Randy

    • Teresa says:

      Hi Randy,
Yes that’s correct. Toxic chemicals can be absorbed through our skin and into our bloodstream. Many people are becoming more aware of this, so that is why the trend of using natural/organic products have been very popular.

I like to tell people, “If you can’t eat it, why put it on your skin?” I also like to tell my female friends to choose a chemical-free makeup if they are going to be using it on a daily basis. I wrote an article about toxins in cosmetics, which can be read HERE.

Thank you for this great post and recommendation for Miessence hand wash product. I agree with you that cosmetics especially soaps should be organic because we use it all the time on our skin. Usually I prepare homemade cosmetics and it is allways good to know to have alternatives on the market if I run out of my supplies. Do they ship to Europe?

  9. naem says:

There so many toxic and skin irritating chemicals in non-organic products, it’s frightening.

this what you need to avoid when buying skincare products:

    SLS
    PARABENS
    GLYCOLS
    PHTHALTES
    ARTIFICIAL DYES
    to list some

I strongly agree with you that there is a big difference between organic and non-organic products. For our own and our families safety we have to use more organic products.
